Ever tried chestnuts that were roasted on an open fire? There’s a reason Nat King Cole mentioned them in his Christmas classic song! Roasted chestnuts are a perfect seasonal snack and cooked in a Wood Fired Oven give the chestnuts a wonderfully smoky flavour.

Preparation and Cooking Time: 45 minutes

  • Chestnuts
  • Serrated knife
  • Perforated pan


  1. Start by checking that the chestnuts are intact (no holes or marks). With a sharp and serrated knife, make a long cut of about 3/4 cm reaching the inside.
  2. Place the chestnuts on the perforated pan and put it directly on the embers in the Wood Fired Oven.
  3. Cook the chestnuts on the embers for about 30 minutes. Depending on the chestnut size and the amount of the embers inside the wood-fired oven, cooking time can vary from 20 to 30 minutes.
  4. Serve immediately
