Cats Tongue Biscuits

Cat’s Tongue Biscuits

Named for their size and shape, cats tongue biscuits are delicately crispy and beautifully sweet to provide a perfect snack for friends and family.


Preparation and Cooking Time: 15 minutes


Serves: 55 - 60

Ingredients

  • 125g room-temperature butter
  • 125g flour
  • 3 egg whites
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 125g powdered sugar

Method

  1. Work the butter with a spoon and add the powdered sugar until smooth. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  2. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks are formed. Gently fold in the butter mixture, then the flour.
  3. Put the mixture into a pastry bag and pipe it onto a baking sheet, forming 5-6 cm long sticks.
  4. Remember to leave a few inches between the biscuits so that they do not touch during cooking.
  5. Turn the pan occasionally for even cooking and remove from the oven when the edges start turning golden.
  6. Gently transfer the biscuits onto a cooling rack and serve once cool.
